A book contains all the bad things people have ever said about you behind your back.

Would you read the book?

The Book Of Nasty Things.  "Interesting ideas, but the
plot lacks coherence." ...The Basingstoke Literary Review
It's a simple dilemma this month, and it's inspired by the old superstition that if your ears are burning it means someone is talking about you behind your back.  Of course, the superstition isn't true, and if your ears are burning then all it means is that your ears are hot.

However, what if you could actually discover what people had said about you behind your back.  That's the scenario for this month's 'Would You Rather?' dilemma...

A book is on the table in front of you, and inside the book are written all the bad things people have ever said about you behind your back throughout your entire life.  It tells you what they said, who said it and when they said it.

The dilemma is, 'Would you read the book?'

In my case it would be an empty book because of course nobody ever talks about me behind my back because I'm such a nice person.  However, for the benefit of people who aren't quite as wonderful as me ... what would you do?  Would you read the book?

  1. No. Mine would be thicker than 'War and Peace' - and I'd never read that, either!
